Extrude Dup(duplication) scene

I created this from the techniques learnt in the Extrude Dup video tutorial and previous learning.
Start with a circle select Extrude Dup in the Mesh Tools panel. To bend the pipe you press spin but make sure you have the cursor in the right place Shift S will help it is also important that you have the camera in the right place. Box select the circle at the end of the pipe and press spin set at 90 degrees with the correct positioning to spin it in the correct direction.

Fruit Bowl

Finally figured out how to import items, so I have now done my fruit bowl. It's pretty simple, just make sure to name the objects you want to import on the object tab (F7), then in the file you want to import the object into go to file > Append or Link (Shift F1), then go to the file for the object you wish to import, click objects and then find the object you want.

I used very similar techniques that I used to make the vase to make this, starting with a circle and extruding it.
I didnt trace a bottle or use a tutorial its just by eye like most of my models, I think it looks alright.

I made this by tracing a background image then extruding and editing the writing, I added a reflective black plane so the writing would be reflected.
Just delete a cube in edit mode so you are left with one vertice, then use Ctrl + left click to draw. Then conect the last two vertices by using fill by pressing F. You can fill the letters in as a whole by pressing Shift + F. Then just extrude them to make them 3D!

This is pretty simple, I used the multiple materials technique on the sphere to do the mouth. The Eyes are just well positioned spheres that emit.

I got this CD today and I love deadmau5 so I was inspired. So I am going to make this head, I will do it free hand because it is such a simple shape. I will base my model on this cover...Stay Tuned......

BOMBERMAN!!

The head is slighlty too square, if I had traced over an image it would have been easier but I couldn't find any good images so I did it free hand. But I am petty pleased with this.

ROBOTIC

Robot second attempt

I redesigned my robot this time its much more circular, but I used the same colour scheme, I took my time and used less organic modeling, after all it is a robot which is not an organic being. I've mainly used spheres, but I do quite like it even though it is simple, I have also added in some suttle textures to give more of a look of metal and wear, the plainer parts look more like plastic. Some techniques I learnt from the vase tutorial came in helpfull here. I think I will come back to this soon and add in some more detail and improve the lighting and shading using more of the vase tutorial techniques. I particularly like the eye because it emits light, and the shiny floor.

Always greener

I was supprised by how quick and easy it was to do this. Create a plane add hair. Increase the amount and randomness, make sure it is spaced out. Change the normal and random velocity, and the Z direction (gravity affect) only by does the trick 0.01.

Change the colour to green, I also added a grass texture and edited the strands, and used tangent shading.

I also turned the texture colour down.

I subdivided and edited the plane to add bumps for a more realistic affect.

Multiple Materials on an object

This is achieved by first having one colour then entering edit mode (F9) clicking new adds another material then you can select the faces you want the new material to apply to, I did this using box select. Then go back to editing mode and click apply the faces selected which change to the new material/colour you hav chosen. You can then all so change the texture.

Vase

I followed a tutorial to make this vase, I think it was a very good tutorial very easy to follow and I learnt some new things.

I used a circle which I then extruded multiple times and scaled each section to form the shape of a vase .

The floor is just a plane with a texture which i downloaded which I also did for the vase. But what makes it look so good and real is because I messed around with lighting and shading so much...










I used three lamps, one high up, one low down and one behind the vase aswell as ambient occlusion.












I also used two layers so there was only one shadow. Lamp two (the lower lamp) and the floor are the second layer.

SPIN
I made this by using the spin tool (degrees 360, steps 32). Starting with the cube, go into edit mode then remove all vertices, then simply hold Ctrl and left click drawing a line that rises, then making sure to be in top view click spin and hey presto you've got yourself a bowl shape then as I usually do I set smooth and added a subsurf modifier to make it look nicer, I also added a wood texture with two shades of brown a spot light and a blue background.

I created this using pretty much all the techniques I have learnt so far. I think the box select tool was the key to the whole thing and of course organic extrusion + Left Click!

Organic Extrusion

This was my first go at using organic extrusion. I just messed around to make these organic goo type things.

Sculpting fruit

Using proportional editing and adding a banana image texture I have tried to improve upon my original.

Banana

Attempt 1

I imported an image of a banana and used a cube which I edited around it by extruding and moving and scaling vertices around in edit mode using a wireframe to make this very simple banana shape.

I first subdivided the cube from the specials menu .

Once I improve on this banana I will be able to make my fruit bowl, I plan to have apples, pears oranges and bananas.
