improving the apple

Working towards my fruit bowl.....
This time for the stalk I used and icoSphere like the apple instead of just a cube and then edited until I like the way it looked. I also imported a texture of the apple skin which I think looks pretty good.

Apple

1st Attempt

D.A.N.C.E.

I duplicated the floor to make the walls. I used a chess texture I found on google images for the floor and used what I learnt in the previous excercise to make the spot lights.

Spot

Course 5 - part 2

Light

Skills from this course:
  • Defining materials
  • Adjusting the glow and transparency of a material
  • Rendering objects as wireframe
  • Creating a texture and assigning it to an object
  • Emitting a texture
  • Using Transform Properties ()
  • Setting shadows for lights
  • Adjusting light colours
  • Using spots and lamps
  • Applying halo to spots
  • Adjusting the halo colour
Pressing enters wire frame mode making it easier to see where all the objects and lights are.
Pressing opens and closes Transform Properties.
This is very simple, a smooth UVsphere on a plane. A green spotlight with the mean angled towards the sphere and the light has a Halo with intensity of 2.5 (HaloInt).
This was one of the simplest tutorials so far.

BALLS

Course 5 - part 1

Materials

A(Alpha) is to make the colour transparant, the ZTransp option is to make the object transparant I have done both here.
In all three pictures the yellow ball is the same, it is meant to appear like a shiny plastic, this was achieved by having high reflection, specularity and hardness. The blue ball is the same in the first picture but with the transparancy effect. In the second picture the blue ball has the wire frame option and in the third picture I added a marble texture, changed the extra colour from pink to white and then gave the new white marble texture the emit effect which means it appears to give off light.
